@330 Series Presents “The Management Chain” Leadership & Management Strategies for Senior Managers working with New Professionals
Today’s graduates may be well prepared to handle media relations, social media strategy and more, but how skilled are they in management? During the next Commerce Lexington Inc. @330 Series event presented by Manpower of Central Kentucky on Tuesday, Feb. 14th, from 3:30-5:00 p.m. at Commerce Lexington’s first floor conference room, Andrea Gils from the UK International Center will help new professionals learn how to manageup (“help your boss help you”) and how to manage their first direct report. Midand senior-level professionals will gain insight into the current diverse workforce landscape and the management skills that new professionals in the field need to master.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Andrea Gils, a native of Uruguay, is the marketing and communications manager at the University of Kentucky International Center, where she supports the University of Kentucky’s strategic initiatives for internationalization; and the International Center’s units, including Recruitment, International Student & Scholar Services, Partnerships & Research, Education Abroad & Exchanges, Confucius Institute, Office of China Initiatives, Global Health Initiatives and International Health, Safety & Security. Her past client portfolio includes Fortune 100 companies such as Wells Fargo and Walmart, as well as a diverse mix of PR sectors including b2c, food and beverage, nonprofit, plastics and rubber, financial and health care. Gils earned her bachelor of science in public relations and bachelor of arts in journalism from Southeast Missouri State University, and her CertTESOL degree from Trinity College London.
