Event Description:
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Lexington recruits, trains, and supervises community volunteers to provide advocacy for abused and neglected children. Our mission is to provide trained, supervised volunteers to advocate on behalf of the best interest of children in the Family Court system due to abuse, neglect, or dependency. In 2016, local CASA volunteers gave 398 children a voice in court, a cause for celebration. Yet sadly, over 1,200 children in our community are still in need of our help! These children, too, urgently need a voice in court, a CASA voice. Bourbon and the Bayou presented by Community Trust Bank is a Fat Friday event with a Mardi Gras theme including live music, Cajun cuisine, bourbon tastings from seven different distilleries, silent and live auctions and Mardi Gras entertainment. New this year, is our VIP Bourbon Experience, in which guests will participate in an hour long session learning about bourbon, and partaking in exclusive bourbon tastings not available to the main event guests. The VIP Bourbon Experience will begin at 6:00 PM, and requires an additional ticket. If you are interested, please contact Melynda Jamison at 859-246-4313 or email mjamison@lexingtonky.gov. Ticket Prices: $100/person $900/table of 10 VIP Tickets- $50/person (Only 50 Available) Event Website: https://my.bidr.co/events/bandb Organization Website: www.lexingtoncasa.com
