City Barbeque

The brisket has great bark on it and is always tender. They have a great variety of sauces so you'll have Asoka find one you love. Their pulled pork is juicy and flavorful. I prefer their vinegar based sauce on their pull pork. Their ribs have a good bbq flavor in every bite.

I have stopped at this location a few times because this is the last vestige for food before getting on 75.

I purchased a sandwich to go on one occasion and just yesterday ate inside. I ordered a half rack of ribs for a stunningly high price. All sides are ala carte so nothing is included. I ordered the potato salad. The ribs came with an unappetizing piece of bread that somehow tasted sweet. I was pretty disappointed in the ribs. They were extremely dry and the 5 small ribs did not live up to the price tag. The potato salad was also sweet lacking the southern tang that is essential, IMO.

The pulled pork sandwich came with a generous portion of meat. I could only eat half of the sandwich mostly because it was super rich in flavor.

The biggest concern for me was the presence of fruit flies in the dinning room. Fruit flies indicate rot in the vicinity and that is something no restaurant should have.

I didn't care for the line ordering. If I am spending $25 on lunch, a wait staff would be appreciated. The other staff members stand around looking gloomy and no one smiles or speaks. I will say that the order takers have been nice and friendly.

The interior is very casual & kid friendly. Lots of dessert choices but I don't do dessert.

Overall, I feel like this restaurant is overpriced for what you get, plus being all self service. I see lots of "workers" there and it rings true that this is the kind of place that laborers who make a very good living and don't mind going in to a restaurant in their dirty duds would feel very comfortable in this restaurant.

City Barbeque has delicious and flavorful bbq and sides. Excellent customer service each time I have been here. Well worth a visit for good BBQ in a relaxed atmosphere.

It's a BBQ joint, so it's very casual!! They have a variety of smoked meats and sides. I got the smoked Turkey with corn pudding and Mac n cheese. The turkey was to die for! The Mac no cheese was creamy and good. I didn't particularly care for the corn pudding as it was a little bready. I prefer a corn pudding made with a custard base. It was a bit pricey at $16 with drink. I would definitely like to go back and have the brisket !

Always a great meal!
I always know what I am going to order without looking at the menu. I highly recommend the More Cowbell -- beef brisket, sautéed onions and peppers, provolone cheese and onion straws on a toasted texas toast bun.
One bite and you will quickly discover why this sandwich has been voted as one of the best sandwiches in America!
Get a side of crispy French fries and of course their always delicious corn pudding!

Good food !The fries are amazing. Brisket is great. Good service good atmosphere. Sauce not so good.

My family and I love the food!! The inside of the dining room needs a little TLC, dirty floors and sticky tables. Awesome food and service though!!

Fannnntastic, come in from out of town for work and tried this place... wanna say this is in my top 3 bbq places i have ever visited... would definitely come back given the opportunity

As if their brisket wasn't delicious by itself, the "more cowbell" sandwich kicks it up a notch and will make you not fear the reaper. Their signature brisket covered lightly in melted cheese, onions & green pepper, sandwiched between two pieces of bread that are almost an afterthought. I say this because so many great sandwiches are ruined by bread that either doesn't compliment the ingredients, or dominates each bite. This sandwich is the perfect combination, and ranks as one of my top-10 go-to favorites in Lexington.
Paired with a cold beer and any of their delicious side items (I like the collards), as well as their vinegar-based "swine wine", because I'm from South Carolina, where vinegar-based BBQ is King (none of that super-sweet, molasses-based nonsense), the more cowbell sandwich is a perfect meal for one, for lunch or dinner.

I was in town looking for some good bbq this place was near and looked good. I must say the food was decent but didn't like the service i felt rushed while trying to view then menu. The prices were reasonable the food came pretty quick.
