Lexington, a city whose beer history remains unknown to most of its loyal patrons, has a rich and storied beer brewing history dating back to the late 1700s. These early brewers produced ales, porters and common table beers in the English tradition of using top fermenting yeast. This method produces beers that are full-bodied and robust with a degree of bitterness. The hops that added the bitterness also acted as a preservative. These beers were aged and served at room temperature. At Steele Dragon Brewery Tours, we want to share these facts, and many more, with the finest people and the finest beverages we know.... beer, bourbon, and wine. Although the Central Kentucky region is more known for its Bourbon distilleries, Lexington has truly become a powerhouse in the Craft Beer Scene in the past 10 years. Our school recently booked a private tour with Steele Dragon Brewery and we all had a great time!!
You can tell that John and Traci are passionate about what they do and was super helpful throughout the whole tour.
We had the opportunity to visit Rock House Brewing, Wise Bird Cidery, and Town Branch Distillery. We all enjoyed this tour because each place we visited was different (the environment, the drinks, and the drink making process)
Everyone was prepared for our arrival and we felt warmly welcomed at each destination. The whole tour was very organized, even with a large group of about 50 people.
Highly recommend booking your wine/beer/bourbon tour with Steele Dragon! Thank you guys!

We went back in August on a retreat for an organization I belong to at UK dental school, where I attend, called ASDA. John Steele, the father of one of my classmates Celene Steele actually guides the tour and is quite knowledgeable about the different breweries and wineries we saw! He's so friendly and hospitable! The tour bus we road on was so comfortable, spacious and fun! It had a bathroom and fit around 35-45 people I think. We were greeted with a beverage of choice and were provided a few drinks throughout the tour courtesy of the tour. The drive between each stop was no more than 20-25 minutes. We did have to bring our own speaker I believe but they allowed us to put in the aisle way and play music as loud as we wanted and get up and dance which was fun. No one had to be seated while the bus was moving. At the end of the tour we got to eat a really nice dinner as well. Overall it was super fun and would highly reccomend!

Reagan S.KY, KY202735Apr 18, 2019My experience with Steele Dragon Brewery Tours was excellent! When you plan your own visits to breweries, wineries, and distilleries, you have to worry about who is driving, and how to get safely from place to place. The tours change locations each week, but they are always planned out for you, so booking with steele dragon will save you a lot of planning time and money in the long run. When you book a tour, you don't have to think about anything except having fun! I really like Steele Dragon because thier largest tour size is about 13 people. Being in a small tour group gives you a personalized experience, plus you get to know more people in the group! The owners are really awesome people, and I enjoyed getting to know them as they led us from place to place. We spent about 3 hours touring 3 breweries and a distillery. At each stop, we learned a lot about the history behind the breweries as well as thier production methods. We were given plenty of drink samples, some souvenirs (glasses, stickers, coozie) and in the middle of the tour we recieved a snack! (If you've ever been drinking for a few hours, you understand how important a good snack is.) I can honestly say that if you want to take on Lexington's Craft beer scene, whether you are local or from out of town, Steele Dragon Brewery Tours is the way to go!

Had a phenomenal time with Steele Dragon Brewery Tours. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and educated our group about the brewing processes at each place we had stopped at. We had lots of varieties at each distillery to accommodate everyone. I recommend this tour if you're all about having a good time!
