Athenian Grill

First time visiting. Excellent food, great customer service, and a very homey feeling!

We went to Arhenian Grill for Lexington Burger Week. Their special was a lamb burger on a split pita. Clever idea. It had Horitakie, Tzatziki and Arugula. Simple, but tasty. I would have preferred more Tzatziki, but all in all a decent offering, and I do love lamb.

Avgolemono soup had plenty of chicken chunks but the soup lacked flavor and was just fair.
Greek salad was presented nicely and had fresh veggies but the dressing was fair and slightly bitter. Salad needed salt. Nice chucks of feta but that was very bland for feta.
The gyro on a pita was served with lettuce and a lot of it. After pulling away and getting to the meat it was juicy which comes from soaking in a pot like a cafeteria. The tzatziki sauce was tasty and the winner of the meal.

Friends and I ordered from Uber Eats, and the portion sizes were huge, more than double the last time I tried Athenian Grill in-person (which is usually not the case with third party ordering).

Some of the food like the chicken is still on the bland side, and I still much rather prefer Nefertiti or Sahara, but Athenian Grill is open later, and more conveniently located.

Price to quantity ratio has improved since my last visit.

This is my favorite greek restaurant in Lexington - I absolutely love their gyros! Everything is always fresh and tasty, service is friendly and fast, and the value is decent.

Only downside is parking and I wish they were more of a sit down restaurant instead of a walk-in deli counter.

So good! Very fresh tasting and takes ApplePay! Service was great very friendly. During lunch is was pretty busy so definitely plan for that when visiting. Definitely worth it to come to if you get an hour! I have been back since my first visit and tried the lamb burger which was amazing. I will be back. It's located in the bottom of an apartment complex and library so parking is side street where you can find it.

I loved the food. Service was good, we sat outside on the patio, it was a treat. I also ordered more, since it was so good, to take home to my family out of town.

This place is always good, and the location is adorable. A little bit hard to find. Not to mention their burger week burger is always the best!

This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in Lexington. Period. Everything is reasonably priced, the wait is never prohibitive, and the staff is always remarkably kind and awesome.

If you've never been before you should probably start with the gyro. It's a classic for a reason. All of the sides are very good but you just can't beat those perfectly crisp french fries. Athenian probably has some of the best fries in town. I'm also a big fan of the lemon potatoes!

I've eaten here so many times, but to be perfectly frank I've never been to the upstairs dining room. If we eat there in person we always sit outside. But a lot of the time we just get our food delivered. I'm sure it's lovely up there.

Was checking out UK today and decided to have lunch at Athenian Grill. While it is a tiny place the food was delicious. All four of us had the classic gyro. The pita was warm, the gyro meet was flavorful, the tomato was ripe and there was plenty of tatziki sauce on the side. We shared an order of grape leaves that were good. The French fries were yummy as well. Really enjoyed this place! I thought the prices were reasonable. The classic gyro combo that included a side and a drink was $13.
