It's not Saturday in Lexington if you don't visit the farmers market! There are so many amazing vendors for meat, cheese, pasta, plants, flowers, and of course fresh fruits and veggies. There are local brewery and I cideries with delicious adult beverages, as well as freshly made coffee and breakfast goods. Dogs welcome!

The Saturday market in downtown Lexington is a fairly large one, easily overfilling the small roof and expanding into a block of city street which is closed for the occasion. The selection included a variety of vegetables, but this being Kentucky there was also a beer cheese stand and an ice cream truck. Selection and quality will vary, of course, but here one has the luxury of being choosy if one wants to spend some money on fresh vegetables.

I had an early morning errand. When I finished, I found myself at my favorite Lexington market! This little market never ever disappoints!!! The produce and products are fresh and delicious!!! Since things are changing for me these days and I will soon become a regular visitor instead of farmer owner, I plan to book my stays @ the C21 Hotel just a block from this market. If I am in Lexington this market is a MUST!!! Don't miss it!!!

Call me basic, but I love going to the Farmer's Market on a weekend morning. There are plenty of options every time I go, and I end up being way too excited by some very delicious vegetables and fruits. The flowers are also a lovely visual bonus! The clear signage of who grows locally is appreciated (also the current signage that distinctly mentions masks are required and sanitizer is provided).

There are so many great vendors that I usually have a hard time making it through the entire market, but there are also vendors that make me spend extra money. I had not seen ANY muscadine grapes this year, but surprisingly, I managed to pick up two pints at $5 apiece when I went to the farmers market last time! Also, there's huge community involvement - West 6th has been there, Drinklings coffee and Turtleback Ridge brewing from out of town have shown up, there are OPTIONS.

We go every chance we get . More people need to support their local farmers. Coming from a big city as a transplant to Kentucky from Chicago people just don't understand how lucky you all have it. Take advantage of it .

This is a year round market in Lexington and has wonderful selections from local farmers. I like that each vendor has a sign that shows whether they grew the products they are selling and I tend to avoid those who don't.

You will find fruits and vegetables, meat products, CBD oil, alpaca products, fresh pasta and sauces, food made to order, fresh flowers sometimes the olive oil vendor, sometimes the beer folks... it all depends on the weather!

At the height of the market you would be amazed by the beautiful choices of products. As you can see from my photos, there's nothing better than the farmers market. I go here frequently and bring cash, but there is a guy to swipe a card and get tokens if you need it. After spending cash here I usually hang around downtown and have brunch!

This was a surprisingly great farmers market! My friend and I were visiting Lexington for the weekend, and we decided to walk over to the market from our Airbnb because they were having a cold brew festival that day! The market had some many more stands and vendors than I was anticipating! Some of it is covered because there's a pavilion in the park (it's summer and I wanted shade), which was great. There were produce vendors, flower vendors, food vendors, and more. My friend and I live in Nashville, which is a larger city than Lexington, but we both felt that Lexington's market is better than our own. It was definitely in a small-ish area, so everything felt very close to each other (but aren't most farmers markets like this?), but there so much beautiful produce and great food! And the prices were great! My friend wasn't starving but wanted something to snack on so we didn't overcaffeinate at the cold brew festival, and should found a vendor that was selling pieces of toast with butter and homemade jams for a SINGLE DOLLAR. I don't think there's anything that inexpensive at our hometown farmers market! Or anything so beautifully simple! On this Saturday morning, the market was busy, and there were kids and dogs and people shopping. And it was just a really fun atmosphere with some really great products. If I lived in Lexington, I'd be shopping and getting recipe inspiration from this market on the regular!

Great variety of vendors and fresh produce. It was a fun atmosphere even on a rainy day. There was live music and a fun, free activity for the kiddos. Great looking produce, breads, fresh meats, plants, cheeses, and more!

The farmers market at Cheapside has really grown. It use to be just vegetables to buy, but many farms are coming and selling everything from honey to popsicles. There is also some booths offering food such as a breakfast sandwich or taco. I recommend making a morning of it, going to do some grocery shopping and supporting local farmers but having breakfast there as well too.

They are even doing a great job at providing more seating for those that do want to snack on their farmers' market finds.

If you like flowers this is the place to buy flowers! They are beautiful, fresh, and perfect for any gift, decor, or just a pick me up for your weekend.

It can be pretty crowded so be prepared to park in the garage near buy or on the street (if you can find street parking it is free on weekends!)
